Dear Brothers/Sisters in Jesus Christ,
I have a prayer request for my my dad Valerian D'Souza. My dad was operated on 30th Dec 2011 for a tumour in his thyroid gland. His entire thyroid gland with the tumour was removed. Within 1 hour of the surgery, he developed breathing problems, turned blue & had to be cut open the second time on the same day. The doctor said that all this was happening due to his past cardiac problems & all the doctors had given up hope on his survival. But God is great & my dad made it. He is now home & stable. However, after the surgery we got to know that one of his vocal cords is paralyzed & he has only one vocal cord to talk. His voice now sounds like a whisper & is not very audible. The tumour was submitted to the cancer institute & it turned out to be malignant(cancerous).
My dad has a scan 6 weeks from the date of surgery(roughly around the 10th of Feb 2012 or a couple of days before that). The scan will show whether the cancer has spread or not & in what stage it is. If it's not spread, then good; but if it is spread, then he needs to go through radiation. I believe in miracles & I sincerely hope that my dad won't get to suffer more than what he has already gone through. Like Jesus said in Matt 18:20, " For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.%u201D, I am requesting you to pray for him that his reports miraculously turn out normal & he gains his voice back. For we believe that with God, nothing is impossible.

Please pray for my life direction. i am at a point realizing what i was pursuing might be all wrong. I worked so hard to be where I always wanted to be, good career, good education, good income, etc. But i know it's all meaningless. i was merely pursing other people's dream, not mine, not God's. I saw what people had, so i told myself i should have too so as to make myself happier. Now i am stuck in my own mistake and had no way out. working in europe is something i always wanted to do, so as to be close to my boyfriend and had a better quality of life. it turned to be a nightmare. since day 1 torubles can't stop coming. it took me a great hell to settle down the admin stuff. work isn't going so well either. i don't really fit into the team and constantly feel frustrated and demotivated. every morning when i wake up i just know i don't want to go to work, and i am depressed and often cries myself to sleep. i took a huge paycut to give up a good salary in Asia, the tax here is eating up most of my salary, i have never felt so "poor" before. i am struggling with finances. I just pray God can help me through this tough year, and show me the future direction, that i will have peace and joy and be happy. Lord, i trust you and i need you so much. amen.
